Thermal conductive gel has single and double components. The biggest difference between the two is that single-component thermal conductive gel is similar to thermal conductive silicone grease, while double-component thermal conductive gel is similar to thermal conductive silicone sheet. Under normal circumstances, single-component thermal conductive gel will not solidify, always remain moist, and have a high oil yield. (Note: There are also special uses, and single-component can also be cured). Two-component thermal conductive gel will solidify and solidify into an elastomer, which has a certain degree of adhesion and a low oil yield. Both choose their appropriate application occasions according to their own characteristics.
How to use thermal conductive gel:
When using manual thermal conductive gel, you need to unscrew the nozzle cover, connect the threaded mixing head, and then clamp the hose in the bayonet of the AB glue gun. Apply the glue hard, and the AB glue is squeezed out of the glue gun to the mixing head, and evenly mixed under the guidance of the thread. Finally, according to the heat dissipation structure design, the evenly mixed thermal conductive gel is applied to the heating position. For the dispensing type thermal conductive gel, just follow the instructions for use of the dispensing machine.
The curing time of thermal conductive gels with different thermal conductivities and from different manufacturers is different, and the curing temperature has an impact on the curing time. You can only strictly refer to the corresponding instructions for operation. Generally, when A and B glues come into contact from the mixing head, the colloid will first experience a process of increasing viscosity, gradually drying the surface, hardening inside, and increasing hardness. When the hardness no longer changes at the end, it means that the thermal conductive gel has been completely cured into an elastomer.
Note: Thermal conductive gel is different from adhesive glue. It has weak bonding force and cannot be used to fix heat dissipation devices.
Application of thermal conductive gel
Thermal conductive gel is widely used in LED chips, communication equipment, mobile phone CPUs, memory modules, IGBTs and other power modules, and power semiconductors.
